DIA Beacon

Capital improvements at Dia Beacon were designed to strengthen both the operational capacity and visitor experience of this world-renowned museum. AtW managed phased construction, public funding, and overlapping timelines while ensuring the museum remained fully operational. Our role placed us in close coordination with Dia’s leadership, operating as an extension of their staff to deliver wrap-around services across nearly every corner of the facility.

The work included restroom renovations, building-wide mechanical system upgrades, and exterior facade maintenance. Simultaneously, AtW managed the design of the museum’s southern landscape, led by Studio Zewde. Each element was executed with care to meet sustainability goals while preserving the unique character of the institution and its historic Nabisco factory home on the Hudson River.

Completed on time and on budget, the upgrades modernized the facility, enhanced the visitor experience, and reinforced Dia Beacon’s role as a cultural anchor and a leading example of adaptive reuse.
