Children’s Aid Goodhue Pool

Children’s Aid Goodhue Pool

Bringing a 1930s community landmark back to life, About the Work led the revitalization of the aging Goodhue pool, transforming it into a vibrant gathering place for Staten Island families. After decades of heavy use, the original pool and locker rooms required significant modernization to address leaks, inefficient systems, and limited accessibility. AtW delivered the renovation on time and under budget, replacing the pool shell, deck, and locker facilities while introducing accessibility improvements and a modern filtration system. We also secured Department of Health approvals, ensuring the pool was ready for safe public use in time for summer. The project demanded careful coordination of public funding, an aggressive schedule, and extensive stakeholder involvement. The result is more than a restored pool—it is a lasting investment in health, safety, and joy for the community.
