Hudson Valley Shakespeare’s new home in Cold Spring is both a cultural milestone and a regional transformation. Set on a 98 acre former golf course, the project will create an ecologically sensitive campus anchored by the Samuel H. Scripps Theater, the first purpose built LEED Platinum theater in the United States, along with support facilities, a welcome center, and restored landscapes designed to foster both performance and preservation.
Guiding a world class project team and a beloved community organization, we balanced the realities of budget with a commitment to design excellence while navigating complex site requirements, failing existing infrastructure, community pressures, and the needs of both contractor and design team. We managed master planning, municipal approvals, and environmental review, while supporting public funding strategies, board engagement, and the planning of both temporary and permanent performance spaces.
Our role kept the team focused on creating and building the best project for the client. The result is a permanent home that reflects HVS’s cultural and ecological values and will serve as a transformative hub for the organization, the local community, and the region.
