WSCAH provides care and healthy food to more than 100,000 New Yorkers each year, and for its first ever dedicated distribution center the organization relied on AtW to manage planning, design, and construction. We converted an 11,000 square foot former post office in Washington Heights into a modern warehouse and operations hub that supports staff offices, volunteer training, and food distribution.
AtW developed, closely monitored, and reported to WSCAH on their tight budget and aggressive schedule while coordinating a diverse group of consultants to deliver the project within its constraints. The facility incorporates custom designed walk in refrigerators and freezers to expand cold storage capacity, along with smart finish selections and the strategic use of color that provide clear visual cues to guide volunteers and staff. Together, these features enhance efficiency and reinforce WSCAH’s commitment to dignity and choice.
